Thierry Henry sends a warning to Kylian Mbappé’s following mixed start at Real Madrid

Eight goals in his first 13 games at Real Madrid only tells part of the story of Kylian Mbappé’s (25) start to life at his new club, and speaking on CBS Sports, Thierry Henry has sent a warning to the France captain.

It hasn’t been simple for Mbappé since joining Los Blancos in the summer on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain. A trip to Sweden during the most recent international break proved controversial, whilst, in the wake of that trip, reports in Sweden suggest that the Frenchman is the subject of a suspected rape investigation.

The alleged rape happened in the hotel in which the Frenchman was staying on 10th October. The report from Aftonbladet in Sweden did not mention Mbappé as being a subject of the police’s investigation, unlike a later report from Expressen, which stated the contrary. Confirming the enquiry, the Swedish prosecutor did not mention Mbappé’s name, however, as per RMC Sport, the player’s entourage are now “certain” that he is a suspect in the investigation.

But on the pitch, and despite his goals, Mbappé has not yet convinced. He hasn’t convinced Henry, at least, who told CBS Sports that he believes the AS Monaco academy product is yet to replicate the levels he showed during his seven-year stint at PSG.

“Is he playing the best that we have seen him playing from his days at PSG? No. He still has to learn. He needs to play better as a No.9, which is very difficult for him at the minute. He is socring goals, but that isn’t enough at times at club’s like that (Real Madrid). I will play the devil’s advocate: we always say it takes time for a player to adapt to a new club, but unfortunately, when you wear that jersey, they don’t give you a lot of time,” said Henry.
