Sky Germany reports that there are two conditions that VfB Stuttgart should meet if they wish to try and make Deniz Undav’s loan move permanent.
The first condition is that Stuttgart qualify for the Champions League. The money received for qualifying for the Champions League would allow VfB to pay the buy option which is said to be around €20m.
This is almost certain to happen as Stuttgart comfortably sits third in the Bundesliga and with Germany set to receive a fifth Champions League spot, they have all but confirmed their place for next season.
The second condition is that a compromise will likely have to be reached when it comes to Undav’s expected salary. The 27-year-old wants to become one of the top earners at Stuttgart and demands a salary of around €5m. This would break the current salary structure at the club so negotiations are underway to try and lower his demands as Undav has previously made it known he would like to stay at Stuttgart.
The 27-year-old has been one of the stand-out players in the Bundesliga this season, initially being brought in as a backup for Sehrou Guirassy, Undav’s performances have made him Guirassy’s strike partner and his 17 goals and eight assists in the Bundesliga earned him a call up to the German national team ahead of the Euros in the summer.
