Not much more needs to be said about the blockbuster fixture this weekend that sees Inter welcome Juventus on Sunday evening.

A single point and place separates the sides prior to kick-off, with the Nerazzurri narrowly ahead in second and they carry the favourites tag given their status as defending champions.

This fixture always delivers and the contrasts will make for fascinating viewing. Firstly, it pits the team who have fielded the oldest average team in the league this season (Inter at 29 years and 255 days) against the second youngest (Juve edge out Parma at 24 years and 77 days).

In addition, it also sees Serie A's top two scorers in 2024 face off as Bianconeri talisman Dušan Vlahović will aim to add to his 15 goals against Inter's Marcus Thuram (13), who could also come up against his brother Khéphren.

However, San Siro is the venue Vlahović has played the most games without scoring, drawing a blank on seven visits, while Thuram loves it there - netting more home goals (five) than any other player this season.

A Roma response to turmoil

It is never dull at Roma and what a week it has been on the chaos front in the build-up to their clash with free-scoring Fiorentina.

Firstly, the ultras on the Curva Sud silently boycotted the opening 15 minutes of their loss to Inter in protest against the club's hierarchy before unfurling banners which made their 'disgust' clear with the absent ownership.

A second message was left at the club's Trigoria training base afterwards before the club were forced to deny shock rumours that Ivan Jurić would be dismissed and replaced Daniele De Rossi - the man he replaced a month ago!

And that's without even touching on club legend Francesco Totti's bizarre interview claim that he is toying with a Serie A playing return at the age of 48.

A win won't come close to solving the problems fans are angry about - but could keep the wolves from the door for another week.

A century awaits

Speaking of players who are chasing goalscoring milestones, keep an eye on Napoli forward Romelu Lukaku this weekend.

The league leaders take on Lecce and the Belgian has the opportunity to clock up 100 goal involvements in Serie A, currently sitting on 99 thanks to 73 goals and 26 assists.

This fixture has been kind to him in the past and in all three of his past meetings with the Salentini in the first half of the season, he has found the net.

Como's hidden gem

On paper, Como's trip to Torino may not seem like the most eye-catching fixture but it offers an opportunity to catch one of the league's brightest young talents in action before he catapults himself to stardom.

Nico Paz is certainly on the brink of it, with the 20-year-old already showing clear signs of his exciting ability this season, justifying the hype that accompanied him at Real Madrid and the price paid for him this summer to become the Lariani's third most expensive signing ever.

This season, he is one of only three players with more than 20 shots attempted (21), more than 10 chances created (13) and more than 10 dribbles completed (12) along with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Rafael Leão. Not bad company at all.

In fact, so impressive has he been this season that the Spain-born sensation was handed his first ever Argentina cap last week. If he carries on this trajectory, it will be the first of many.
