Manchester United will kick off their 2025/26 Premier League campaign by facing Arsenal at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils finished the 2024/25 season in 15th place on a dismal 42 points (only being ahead of Wolves in 16th on a superior goal difference).
Having scraped close to rock bottom and flirted with the horrors of relegation, the only way, surely, is up for this United side and its emotionally beleaguered fanbase.
Two wins, two defeats and a draw; seven points accrued out of a possible 15. It kind of speaks for itself, doesn’t it? Far from exceptional, far from the level required to break United back into the Champions League spots.
Game 1: (H) Fulham (1-0 win)
Game 2: (A) Brighton (2-1 defeat)
Game 3: (H) Liverpool (3-0 defeat)
Game 4: (A) Southampton (3-0 win)
Game 5: (A) Crystal Palace (0-0 draw)
There’s sure to be plenty of demand for Manchester United match tickets ahead of what is almost certain to be an improvement on a record-breaking poor league campaign.
We’re not expecting miracles this term – a United side that finished 15th in the Premier League table (an embarrassing 42 points behind winners Liverpool) – isn’t going to become a title challenger overnight.
However, we can at least target an improvement on the seven points we picked up in 2024/25.
Matheus Cunha has already walked through the doors at Carrington, and we’re expecting further reinforcements in our bid to become more competitive in the 2025/26 Premier League season.
Game 1: Arsenal (H)
Game 2: Fulham (A)
Game 3: Burnley (H)
Game 4: Manchester City (A)
Game 5: Chelsea (H)
For those still hurting from the 2024/25 season, there’s a joke in here about every upcoming game in the 2025/26 campaign being a major speed bump for this Manchester United side.
But let’s embrace positivity ahead of the new campaign. For starters, this is the first time Erik ten Hag’s replacement, Ruben Amorim, will have had a proper pre-season to work with his players.
Nonetheless, there are a few periods in our newly released fixture list that have caught the eye. Chief amongst these might very well be our opening five Premier League fixtures.
A run against the league runners-up in Arsenal, a likely revitalised Manchester City and Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea (also with ambitions of Premier League glory) isn’t quite what fans will have been hoping for.
There is, at least, one silver lining to bear in mind: none of these sides will have had a serious opportunity to build up momentum at this stage of the campaign.
So this is perhaps the most ideal time to face quality opposition, especially whilst the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal will also be trying to bed in new signings.
