The ball is in Dani Carvajal’s court regarding his Real Madrid future | OneFootball

With many contracts coming to an end in the next year or so, Real Madrid have been hard at work getting the ball rolling on renewals for some of their stars to keep them at the club.

One such star is Dani Carvajal, who will be kept at Real Madrid if he wishes to stay, as per Diario AS. Reports indicate that everyone at Real Madrid expects him to continue beyond his current expiry date of this summer.

This move would follow in the trend of offering new contracts to older players that has been employed with some of the club’s other stars over 30 such as Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

Carvajal’s continuity at the club could be vital given the high level of fixture congestion Ancelotti’s side could face this season. With the possibility of up to 72 games, having a player of Carvajal’s calibre available to rotate in could be invaluable.

The only issue is that the 32-year-old still has the drive and hunger to play each and every week, so he may not react well to facing competition for his spot.

At the end of the day, the decision of whether to stay or to go will be all down to Carvajal himself.
