Before any coming transfers are considered, the first thing Liverpool must do is sell Darwin Nunez.
The fans' frustrations with him have reached boiling point and Arne Slot is defiant to not start him in another game this season - a wise decision to ensure the club won't have to pay an add-on for him.
He's quite simply biding his time for the remainder of the season until the transfer window opens.
Previously, his efforts in front of goal - while sporadic and inconsistent - were at least useful to the team. In the 2022/23 season, he scored 15 goals and he backed that up with 18 goals in the next.
But this season, his minutes have only marginally dropped off, by Slot's choosing, and he has been pretty ineffective when given the opportunity to play. Furthermore, his attitude has been miles off.
As such, he needs to be moved on as soon as possible. The only problem with such a request, however, is the price tag that Liverpool want for him to recoup some of their inevitably losses.
In order to make a transfer happen, some ambitious plans may need to be devised, although there are ways that the club can agree such a deal while coming out on top. Here's an example.

According to El Crack Deportivo, the Argentinian club are hoping to sign the Uruguayan striker, although the money that Liverpool are looking for is a sum that River cannot afford.
However, one of the caveats in the report adds: "They [Liverpool] request money that River could not pay, unless he [Jorge Brito] sells three footballers in a good amount of money."
As such, Liverpool might choose to focus some of their recruitment efforts on shopping at River Plate, in order to give the club the money they need to take Nunez off our hands.
With little hesitation, there is already one player that the Reds are linked to that could be part of this potential deal and some of the homegrown talents would make for ideal projects for Slot to oversee.
First and foremost, 17-year-old Franco Mastantuono would need to be part of a deal, because he has already embedded himself in the first team, scoring five goals and making three assists in 15 games.
In a conversation about Lamine Yamal and the 'next Messi', Thierry Henry praised Mastantuono for his impressive performances, claiming that he might become a headline name in two or three years.
His ability to play in midfield and at right-wing makes him an asset that is destined to make a big move over the next few years. Securing him before the rest of Europe's big clubs catch a glimpse of him would be a massive deal to complete.
Furthermore, Ian Subiabre is yet another midfield talent who is capable of playing a role in the forward line, this time at left-wing. The 18-year-old has struggled to make a significant impact for River Plate, but his form for the U20 Argentinian team is very different.
While neither are likely to be leading the line for Liverpool any time soon, because they both still have a lot of development to do, the pair would be great projects to sign that could flourish at the club.
The Reds are well known for their willingness to give young players a go, so the move could be incredibly beneficial for their careers, and the club would help make a start on allowing River to sign Nunez from us. It would quite literally be a win-win situation for both parties.
Of course, this plan is particularly ambitious, and the greater likelihood is that someone else signs Nunez instead of River, but it is plausible that a complex deal could be struck.
