We’ve reached the halfway stage of the Women’s Super League season and plenty of players have been in fine form.
This campaign is shaping up to be one of the best in recent memory, with four teams still in the hunt for the title and separated by just five points.
These teams include current champions Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City.
As you’d expect, there have been a number of standout players from all four of these clubs, while there have also been some impressive performances from individuals elsewhere.

Therefore, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to put together our WSL Team of the Season so far.
Featuring England’s first-choice left-back turned forward, Man City’s prolific striker and one of the best young players in world football right now – this team is stacked with talent.
The Australian keeper proved how valuable she is to West Ham with a near-faultless performance vs Arsenal recently – helping her side earn a valuable point.
Arnold has made more saves than anyone else in the league (44) and has kept four clean sheets for the Hammers.
Credit must also go to Mary Earps, who’s not put a foot wrong for Man United but Arnold’s shot-stopping has won this battle at the halfway stage of the season.
Unsurprisingly, two Man United players feature in our defence.
The Red Devils have kept nine clean sheets so far this year and both Batlle and Le Tissier have been integral to United’s success.
Batlle has also resisted six assists in just nine games, while Le Tissier notched two goals on her debut for the club –– not a bad way to endear yourself to the United faithful.
Meanwhile, Wubben-Moy has kept seven clean sheets with Arsenal this season and has marshalled the defence at times in the absence of Leah Williamson.
Completing the back four is George, who has been instrumental for Everton of late. The full-back has been called up for England’s Arnold Clark cup squad later this month and will be hoping for the chance to prove herself to Sarina Wiegman, ahead of the World Cup later this year.
To address the elephant in the room, we’re aware that James and Reiten have been playing as forwards, but both are operating as wingers in a 4-4-2 for this team – hence we’re classing them as midfielders for now.
Considering it was Sam Kerr, Pernille Harder and Fran Kirby who stole most of the plaudits last year, the Chelsea duo have both been mightily impressive this campaign.
Reiten has the most assists in the league with nine, while James has tormented teams with her majestic dribbling skills and ruthless power.
Maanum is another who went somewhat under the radar last season but has deservedly got the plaudits she deserves in recent months.
Elsewhere, Zelem is one of many outstanding performers in the United midfield and the 27-year-old has taken her game to new heights this year.
The former Juventus star has been named in Wiegman’s latest England squad and must surely be in contention for a place on the plane as it stands.
Shaw enjoyed a tough start to life in England, having joined from Bordeaux last season.
Yet, the Jamaican has more than filled the shoes of the now-retired Ellen White and has been in unstoppable form in front of goal.
The 26-year-old is the highest scorer in the league with 10 and has 17 goals this season in all competitions.
Daly has been a revelation for Aston Villa this year and is just behind Shaw on nine league goals.
The Lionesses star continues to be one of the most versatile players in women’s football and is more than competent playing in defence, midfield and attack.
Having signed from the Houston Dash in the summer, Villa have utilised her as a striker, and it’s paid dividends so far.
