Leeds United are back in the Premier League after two seasons away, and manager Daniel Farke will be desperate to keep them up.

The Elland Road club spent three seasons in the Premier League after their return ahead of the 2020-21 season, and they have plans to stay longer this time around.

Farke will fancy his chances of making the Whites a regular team in the top-flight despite the critics, and former Whites star Stuart Dallas is convinced he is the perfect man for the job.

“He’s been brilliant – he’s remained calm throughout his whole time here and didn’t panic when things were going against him,” Dallas told the Sun.

“Having worked with him, I know exactly how he is and what he says in the media, and how he acts is exactly the same, and that’s brilliant for players.

“When he stuck his neck on the line and said that he was 100 per cent convinced that Leeds would get promoted, that would give me a lot of confidence to go and perform.

“It’s definitely the right decision to keep him. What he’s achieved over back-to-back Championship seasons can’t be topped.

“He’ll have learned from his mistakes in the Premier League before with Norwich City and is going to be obviously backed a bit better hopefully.”

Farke suffered instant relegation with Norwich in 2019-20 after securing promotion with them as Championship winners the previous season.

He brought them back up immediately, but he was sacked in November 2021 after losing a 15th consecutive Premier League game – a record for a club or a manager in English top-flight history.

The German has proven himself in the Championship with Leeds, but questions remain over his ability in the Premier League.

There was intense speculation about his future a few weeks ago, before the club publicly backed him.

Leeds have signed Lukas Nmecha, Sebastiaan Bornauw and Jaka Bijol and will make further additions to their squad this summer.

Farke must ensure they hit the ground running when the 2025-26 campaign starts if he wants to keep pressure off himself.
