Turning focus back towards matters on the continent, Los Blancos made the trip to north London, for a Champions League quarter-final first-leg showdown witb Arsenal.

When all was said and done on an evening to forget for Carlo Ancelotti’s troops, they were condemned to the wrong side of an embarrassing result, downed by three goals to nil.

And the level of performance pieced together by the Spanish champions, as alluded to above, has since been aptly summed up by the stats.

As revealed by TNT Sports, Real Madrid ran seven kilometers less than any other team in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Los Merengues, as a team, covered a combined 101.2km over the course of the 90 minutes at The Emirates.

Topping the list, meanwhile, are Inter Milan, who managed a hefty 125.6km combined distance in their meeting with Bayern Munich.
