Tottenham Hotspur head to Ipswich Town this weekend looking for a third consecutive Premier League win, something they have not managed since Antonio Conte’s tenure in May 2022.

A 1-0 victory over Manchester United last time out built on their 3-2 success at Brentford, lifting them to 12th place.

Ipswich stunned Tottenham in London earlier this season, securing their first top-flight win since winning promotion.

However, their campaign has since unravelled, with just two more league victories and a winless run stretching into 2025.

A 1-1 draw at Aston Villa last weekend offered some encouragement. Reduced to 10 men for the entire second half, they held on with the help of goalkeeper Alex Palmer’s heroics.

Kieran McKenna’s side are two points from safety and have lost six of their last seven home games. Their only joy has come against Tottenham, whom they have beaten four times in a row in the league.

Spurs’ recent progress has been aided by a welcome lack of midweek fixtures, allowing players to recover and train properly.

Manager Ange Postecoglou has noted the mental and physical benefits, with a refreshed squad looking to build consistency.

Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are nearing returns, while Brennan Johnson, James Maddison, and Destiny Udogie have already bolstered the squad.

That depth could be crucial as Tottenham balance their domestic resurgence with upcoming Europa League commitments.

Despite their struggles, Ipswich remain a difficult side to break down. They are organised, work tirelessly and have already proven capable of frustrating Tottenham.

Postecoglou will want his side to avoid the mistakes from November’s loss and impose their game early.

A win would reaffirm their push up the table and further distance them from the mid-season slump that derailed their early promise.

Spurs remain outsiders for Champions League qualification, but a strong finish could salvage their season. The immediate priority is ensuring they do not allow Ipswich to haunt them again.
