Simon Rusk honours Kyle Walker-Peters with a difference maker tag after starring in the Premier League in his milestone fixture.

Southampton has saved many Premier League draws before, still that West Ham equaliser is sure to receive its special mention in Saints' history. And the highly underappreciated man behind that goal was Kyle Walker-Peters who managed to find Ugochukwu in spite of threading a massively deflected pass for the latter.

Now, one thing went unnoticed about that moment which was an individual comeback effort from Walker-Peters. A couple of weeks ago, Southampton started their home proceedings against Crystal Palace in style and even amassed a prized 1-0 lead.

Nonetheless, they had a golden chance to double their advantage but the 28-year-old fullback mismanaged a clear-cut pass towards Paul Onuachu. Everyone knows what were its consequences with the Saints being made to wait before removing the Derby County stress from their mind.

Walker-Peters awarded deserved difference maker acclaim

Hence, it was more than a turnaround for Walker-Peters when he contributed to levelling that feared figure, with a handful of games to spare. And it couldn't have been much better than doing it on his milestone double-century Southampton appearance.

Aptly, Simon Rusk has also shown no hesitation in tagging Walker-Peters as one of the biggest difference makers in the first team squad.

In his own words, Rusk spoke to the Daily Echo: "One of the things we are all searching for is match-winners and players that entertain and excite. Kyle more than lives up to that."

Wish Southampton fans could continue smiling at these compliments for another good chunk of seasons. That's because they are set to end soon with Walker-Peters' tipped to fall short of the three hundredth appearance mark by a mammoth distance.

As things stand, the best the Saints can do is thoroughly enjoy these final cameos of Walker-Peters in a Southampton shirt before that leftover spell runs out.
