There's no telling how different Southampton's team wil look come next season when they'll be competing in the EFL Championship. The Saints failed to march to safety on their return to the Premier League and a host of players' futures are up in the air.
It seems unlikely that the club will be able to keep hold of English wunderkind Tyler Dibling amid growing interest from the Premier League and abroad. It's reportedly going to take £100m to prise him away from St Mary's.
Dibling, 19, could be one of many first-team stars to depart after tasting top-flight football albeit during a relegation campaign. His compatriot, Aaron Ramsdale, could make a quick exit and if he does then Chelsea have been told to make their move for the English goalkeeper.

Ben Foster has urged Chelsea to use the Saints' relegation to pursue Ramsdale, who only arrived at the club last summer. The former Manchester United goalkeeper said (via The Cycling GK podcast):
"Yes, I would (sign Aaron Ramsdale at Chelsea). He would be an upgrade… Rambo needs to find a team that are going to be a solid, settled Premier League team, and you’ll get another 10 years out of Aaron Ramsdale at the top level.”
Ramsdale, 26, joined Southampton from Arsenal in a £25m deal in August 2024 which was seen as a significant coup given his experience. He was between the sticks for the Gunners' previous two title races but Mikel Arteta opted to drop him for David Raya.
The England international has suffered his third relegation to the Championship of his career. His time at the Emirates was the only extended period he spent competing in the Premier League which is likely his desire with the FIFA World Cup on the horizon in 2026.
Chelsea have struggled to decide on a permanent number one amid Robert Sanchez's inconsistent form and question marks over the inexperienced Filip Jorgensen. They were linked with Ramsdale last summer when Arsenal put him up for sale.
The English shot-stopper has appeared 26 times in the league this season, keeping two clean sheets. He was named in the PFA Team of the Season in 2023 before losing his number one jersey to Raya at the Emirates.

Ramsdale's departure would need to be dealt with as the Saints will need a safe pair of hands in the Championship. Alex McCarthy, 35, isn't getting any younger and Joe Lumley, 30, hasn't quite displayed the capabilities to be first-choice.
Bayern Munich's Daniel Peretz, 24, has reportedly emerged as a target, although he's also on Eintracht Frankfurt's radar. The Israeli goalkeeper prefers a loan move and has ambitions of becoming the Bavarians' number one in the long term.
