Southampton confirm three further departures | OneFootball

Southampton have revealed that three more players have left the club upon the expiry of their contracts at St Mary’s Stadium.

The Saints confirmed the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

It has been revealed that Jemma Purfield, Molly Pike and Benedicte Håland have all moved on following the conclusion of their deals.

Full-back Purfield joined Southampton in summer 2023 after leaving former club Leicester City. She went on to make 50 appearances for The Saints in which she scored three goals. Purfield was the Southampton captain last season and was one of the team’s more consistent performers.

Midfielder Pike also moved to the South Coast in summer 2023 off the back of a spell with Leicester City. She scored 13 goals in 51 outings in a Southampton shirt. Like Purfield, Pike has been an important member of the team in her time at St Mary’s Stadium.

Southampton signed Norwegian goalkeeper Håland in the January 2024 transfer window and she has provided some strong competition for the first-choice jersey.

The trio join Alice Griffiths, Rianna Dean, Izzy Milne, Emma Thompson and Emily Kraft in leaving Southampton this summer. The club are now very light on numbers and are sure to recruit heavily in the coming weeks.
