Leeds United have submitted an offer worth more than £26 million for Feyenoord winger Igor Paixao, according to Sky Sports News. The proposal includes a significant package of add-ons, as the Yorkshire club move ahead of Marseille in the race for the Brazilian.
While the Ligue 1 side have been locked in negotiations with Feyenoord, their attempts to finalise terms have hit obstacles. Leeds have now seized the moment and formally entered discussions with an offer that is understood to surpass Marseille’s package in overall value.

The 25-year-old is under contract with Feyenoord until 2028, and the Dutch club remain firm in their valuation. However, with Leeds demonstrating concrete intent, the situation is expected to progress swiftly.
“Leeds United have made a bid in excess of £26m,” reported Sky Sports News, “and are believed to be offering more in add-ons.”
For Leeds supporters, this feels like a pivotal moment. After years of cautious moves and squad reconstruction, this bid signals clear ambition. Igor Paixao is not a speculative addition, he is a player with proven output in the Eredivisie and the kind of profile that fits into a Premier League system seamlessly.
What excites fans is the timing. While other clubs hesitate or haggle, Leeds have acted decisively. It echoes the sort of bold recruitment fans longed for during earlier windows. Paixao brings pace, creativity, and a directness that could be vital in games where flair unlocks defences.
His four-year contract at Feyenoord makes this a difficult deal, but the club’s intent is unmistakable. Offering more in add-ons suggests flexibility and forward-thinking. This is a board that appears to trust its analytics, its scouts and, perhaps most importantly, its manager.
For a fanbase that has been starved of expressive, attacking football at times, Paixao feels like a statement. Whether or not the deal crosses the line, Leeds have placed themselves back in the conversation, not just as a Premier League club, but as one with purpose.
