Fulham are pressing ahead with their recruitment plans as the transfer window edges towards its final stages, with focus fixed on strengthening the wide positions. According to a detailed report from Sky Sports News’ Lyall Thomas, the west London club remain in discussions with AC Milan regarding Samuel Chukwueze.
The Nigeria international has been admired by Fulham for some time. As Sky Sports confirm, “The 26-year-old is a long-term target, and Fulham made offers for the Nigeria international in January.” That pursuit has not diminished, with the Cottagers eager to secure another attacking option following the addition of Adama Traoré earlier in the summer.
Fulham’s hierarchy are convinced Chukwueze could add significant quality to their forward line. His profile as a direct, pace-driven wide player fits well with the side’s style under Marco Silva. “Fulham still want to sign a second winger after Kevin and remain in talks for AC Milan’s Samuel Chukwueze,” Sky Sports report.
Interest from England has surrounded the player for multiple windows, but Fulham’s intent appears stronger than ever. Those close to negotiations suggest progress is steady, though the complexity of dealing with Milan has required patience.
While Chukwueze is considered the priority, Fulham have also assessed other players. As highlighted in the Sky Sports report, “Fulham also admire Dilane Bakwa – a player Nottingham Forest are in talks for – but Chukwueze is thought to be the priority.” Bakwa’s emergence as a sought-after prospect makes competition intense, yet Fulham’s pursuit underlines their ambition to widen options.
Further names in the mix include Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson, who remains monitored by multiple Premier League clubs, and Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling, who could be considered on a loan basis. “Fulham have also been interested in Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson, who also remains a target for Crystal Palace, and potentially Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling on loan.”
Marco Silva has been clear about the need for added depth, particularly with European competition on the horizon. The club’s strategy has been to recruit experienced Premier League performers, combined with talent from abroad that can raise the ceiling of the side’s quality.
Chukwueze’s pace, creativity and Champions League experience with Milan would provide immediate impact. While negotiations remain ongoing, Fulham’s persistence signals a club determined to progress further up the table.
As a Fulham supporter reading this update, excitement is impossible to ignore. The fact that Sky Sports are reporting continuous negotiations for Samuel Chukwueze shows how serious the club are about taking the next step. It is refreshing to see Fulham targeting players of this calibre. Chukwueze has been tested at the highest level with Villarreal and Milan, and his ability to beat defenders one-on-one is exactly what we need.
Fans have been crying out for more pace and unpredictability in attack. With Adama Traoré already through the door, adding Chukwueze would give Marco Silva two wide players capable of frightening opposition defences. Imagine Chukwueze cutting inside from the right and linking up with Raúl Jiménez or Rodrigo Muniz, it could transform the way we attack teams at Craven Cottage.
Of course, names like Reiss Nelson and Raheem Sterling are appealing, but Chukwueze feels different. He has that hunger and edge, the sort of player who can win matches on his own. Fulham are not only securing their Premier League status anymore, they are aiming to push into the top half with style. If the club can pull this deal off, it will be one of the most exciting signings in recent years.
