The Sky Sports column ‘Jones Knows’ has given some interesting analysis and commentary on what is currently the position at Newcastle United.

The column makes predictions on what will happen at certain Premier League matches and also debates other matters/issues at clubs as well.

However, unlike the usual ex-pro predictions, that are usually simply based on how ‘big’ a club is and whether or not they won the previous game, this one has proper analysis and insight, not lazy assumptions.

The Sky Sports ‘Jones Knows’ column looks at the matches from a betting perspective and has been concentrating on this Newcastle United game at home to Fulham.

Lewis Jones (who is the Sky Sports expert behind the ‘Jones Knows’ column) has highlighted some major underlying factors that could / should have a big bearing on this Newcastle v Fulham game.

“Fulham are a team I’m always drawn to but rarely make me any money.

“They are such a well-drilled, well-coached outfit under Marco Silva with an excellent process when it comes to their underlying numbers but they find ways not to win matches. It’s down to their lack of finishers in the final third – as seen by Rodrigo Muniz in the defeat to Manchester United.

“Newcastle are almost exactly the opposite with the main man Alexander Isak leading their line. It’s 18 goals in his last 18 starts across all competitions for him.

“So, even though my instincts are telling me to get with Fulham here the likelihood is they’ll play well, do many things right in the game, but Newcastle will come out on top due to their better individual quality across the pitch.

“Prediction: Newcastle 2 Fulham 1”

Interesting analysis as always, from the Sky Sports expert.

Difficult to disagree with any of that pre-Fulham overview.

After an appalling run of form with his Newcastle United predictions (Newcastle 1 Bournemouth 1, Newcastle 2 Wolves 2, Spurs 2 Newcastle 2, Man U 1 Newcastle United 1, Newcastle 1 Aston Villa 2), the Sky Sports man got it exactly right last weekend with his Southampton 1 Newcastle 3 forecast.

Here’s hoping he is in the money once again with his NUFC prediction this afternoon.
