Inter Milan head coach Simone Inzaghi has admitted that he may be unable to call on a star member of the club’s frontline for their upcoming showdown with Barcelona.
The player in question? Lautaro Martínez.
Frontman Lautaro for his part featured from the off on Wednesday night, as Inter Milan made the trip to Catalunya’s capital for the first leg of a Champions League semi-final tie.
En route to an eventual 3-3 draw between the sides, however, the Argentine was forced into a premature departure from proceedings.
After pulling up off the ball late in the first-half, Lautaro was hooked by boss Inzaghi at the interval.
And if the latest comments on the part of Inter’s headmaster are anything to go by, then the striker’s participation in next week’s return leg at San Siro appears to have been thrown into serious doubt as a result.
“It will be difficult for Lautaro to play the second leg,” Inzaghi admitted post-match.
