Saudi offers could reopen door for departure amid contract and performance tensions
Seven Years of Glory.. Now Madrid Ready to Dump Vinicius?
Real Madrid’s relationship with Vinicius Junior appears to be nearing breaking point after 7 year of highs and growing disputes.
Reports in Spain suggest the Brazilian star could leave before the transfer window closes if fresh offers from Saudi Arabia arrive.
According to The Athletic, tensions escalated when Vinicius refused to extend his contract on the terms offered.
He reportedly demanded salary package matching Kylian Mbappe’s, a request the Madrid hierarchy firmly rejected.
The conflict has been compounded by dip in the forward’s performances. Club insiders have hinted that Vinicius may even be benched in upcoming matches if his form doesn't improve. Management's also weighing up whether his wage demands justify his current output.
Madrid're said to be open to reconsidering Saudi proposals worth between 40m euro & €50m though no final decision has been made. The situation has left Vinicius’s long term future at the Bernabeu under serious doubt.
Since joining in 2018, the 26 year old's played 207 La liga matches scoring 61 goal. His honours include 3 league title, 2 Champions league trophies and 2 Club World cups. Despite this decorated run.
