Lazio will aim to get back to winning ways and climb the league standings when they face rock-bottom Salernitana tomorrow at the Stadio Arechi.

After failing to make a concrete start to the season, Lazio saw a surge in form but their efforts were dented when they lost to Bologna and followed that up with a goalless draw with neighbourhood rivals Roma earlier this month. Maurizio Sarri’s team are four points away from the top-four places but it seems to be a long climb with their league counterparts in form.

Currently sitting in 10th place, the Biancocelesti haven’t been able to make a significant mark till now this season. Despite their dip in performances in the Serie A, Lazio have been able to navigate themselves efficiently to remain in contention to progress to the knockouts of the Champions League. With the Coppa Italia coming up next month, it is important for the capital side to win the next few matches to approach the cup matches in form.

Meanwhile, Salernitana will come into this match without much hope as they have failed to win a single game this season. The Salerno-based club thought that they were on course to their first victory of the campaign after leading 2-0 against Sassuolo in their last league outing but the Neroverdi came back into the match with two goals and it ended 2-2.

With Cagliari and Verona already off the mark, it is becoming a tough task for Filippo Inzaghi’s side to secure survival at the end of the campaign.

The Granata know that to get out of the relegation zone they need to secure their first three points and against Lazio, it might not be ideal but certainly a shot worth taking.

Guillermo Ochoa’s shoulder injury is set to keep him out of the Salernitana team sheet until the end of December.

Loum Tchaouna and Jovane Cabral are expected to miss the match with injuries.

As for Lazio, Luis Alberto will miss the match as he will serve a suspension after picking up the fifth booking of the season against Roma.
