Sébastien Haller has reportedly made a decisive move regarding his future. The Ivorian striker, crowned African champion in 2023, wants to leave Borussia Dortmund for good and join FC Utrecht in the Netherlands.

At Dortmund, Haller has been out of the club's plans since 2024. Between injuries, an underwhelming loan spell at Leganés, and limited playing time, his situation has become increasingly complicated. He is said to have decided to terminate his contract, which runs until 2026. In fact, the former West Ham forward has requested a split from the German side—a move Borussia Dortmund has already accepted, according to some sources. The Bundesliga club is reportedly even prepared to pay compensation to the 31-year-old to facilitate his departure.

If this amicable parting is confirmed, Sébastien Haller will return to Utrecht, a club he knows well. To recall, the Ivorian international played for the Dutch side between 2015 and 2017, and returned there on loan in January 2025, scoring 6 goals in 18 matches. He will thus continue his career in a familiar environment where he is highly valued and can play a key role.
