Following injuries to Aaron Hickey and Nathan Patterson, the biggest concern for Clarke and co. was at right-back, with Celtic’s Anthony Ralston and Ross McCrorie of Bristol City getting the nod ahead of Max Johnston following his double-winning season at Sturm Graz.

James Forrest is rewarded for his late season purple patch with a return to the set-up, while Liverpool youngster Ben Doak also makes the cut after recovering from a long-term injury.

In addition to Hickey and Patterson, Bologna standout Lewis Ferguson misses out with an ACL issue, with Ryan Jack and Stuart Armstrong included despite their recent fitness problems.
