San Diego FC has banned 33 fans indefinitely from attending the club's home or away matches, the club announced Friday.

The measure comes following postgame skirmishes between fans inside and outside Snapdragon Stadium in the aftermath of the club's 2-1 victory over the LA Galaxy on Saturday.

"Following a review of the incidents that occurred after last Saturday’s match at Snapdragon Stadium, San Diego FC has identified 33 individuals who will be banned indefinitely from attending all club and MLS events, including home and away matches," reads a club statement. "We are collaborating with Snapdragon Stadium officials, Major League Soccer, the LA Galaxy and local law enforcement to confirm identities and enforce the bans. Our collective review of the incidents is ongoing, and further actions may be taken.

"The behavior exhibited by these individuals is entirely unacceptable and does not reflect who we are as a club. We seek to create matchdays that are safe, welcoming, and respectful environments for all fans. Snapdragon Stadium officials have assured us that they will enhance security protocols to ensure safety at stadium events."

The incidents last weekend continued what has been a concerning pattern in the early days of San Diego FC's time in MLS as the league's 30th club.

Fan trouble also marred San Diego FC's previous home win over LAFC on March 29. And the club's inaugural home match -- a 0-0 draw against St. Louis City -- included the surfacing of a homophobic chant that the Mexico national team has been trying to squash within its fanbase for more than a decade.

Given that SDFC is not competing in the U.S. Open Cup or Leagues Cup, the club won't have to face the issue of clashes between home supporters and those from nearby Los Angeles until at least a potential MLS Cup Playoff meeting.

The San Jose Earthquakes play their first game at Snapdragon Stadium on Sept. 27, but the drive from the Bay Area is at least three times as long as the commute between the two Southern California cities.
