Left-back Samuel Dahl recently gave his first full interview since transferring from Roma to Benfica.

The 21 year-old had limited playing time with the Giallorossi this season and decided to join the Portuguese giants on loan until June. When asked about the move, Dahl expressed his awe at the club’s size and ambitious goals.

“I’m very happy to be here, at this club, with a fantastic history and this level of football. It’s really amazing to be here,” Dahl told BTV.

“It’s a massive club, with a great history, with lots of good players—many of whom came up through the academy. The team has a lot of youngsters, also some Scandinavian players, and legends like Otamendi and Di María. It’s amazing to be here.”

He continued, “The last few years have been a blur, passing quickly. I feel happy and blessed to have this opportunity to do what I love. It’s amazing.”

“Obviously the goal is to win every single game, which is the club’s main objective and the primary reason why I’m here. I’m very excited to be here and appreciate all the support I’ve received so far from fans.”
