Arsenal entertained Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to secure a positive result at home in the Premier League. The Gunners settled into the game well and managed to take the lead in the 18th minute thanks to Sven Botman’s unfortunate own goal. Kai Havertz doubled his team’s advantage just six minutes later as the North London club went into the half-time break 2-0 up on the scoreline.
Bukayo Saka put the match to bed when he scored in the 65th minute before Jakub Kiwior put Arsenal 4-0 ahead just four minutes later. Joe Willock scored a late consolation goal for Newcastle as the contest finished with Mikel Arteta‘s men earning a dominant 4-1 victory in front of their home fans.
Let’s take a look at how each Arsenal player performed during the match against the Magpies.
GK: David Raya – 6.5/10
He made one solid save at the back but won’t be happy after conceding a late goal.
RB: Ben White – 6/10
White made one important clearance inside his half but offered very little going forward.
CB: William Saliba – 6.5/10
The French talent kept things solid at the back but was accurate with his passing.
CB: Gabriel – 7/10
The Brazilian defender earned the ball back twice inside his half and was threat at the other end of the field as well.

LB: Jakub Kiwior – 7.5/10
Kiwior performed his defensive duties well and managed to get his name on the scoresheet in the second half.
CM: Martin Odegaard – 7/10
The Norway international made two decent chances for his teammates but failed to register a goal tonight.
CM: Jorginho – 7/10
Jorginho was a positive influence at both ends of the pitch.
CM: Declan Rice – 8/10
Rice engineered a few excellent opportunities for his teammates to score and has got an assist to show for his efforts.
RW: Bukayo Saka – 8.5/10
Saka was a constant menace in the final third and managed to find the back of the net in the 65th minute.
ST: Kai Havertz – 8/10
He scored with a good finish in the first half and ended the game with an assist to his name as well.
LW: Gabriel Martinelli – 7/10
Martinelli caused some headaches for his marker and did well to secure an assist tonight.
Substitutes:
ST: Leandro Trossard – 6/10
He made one decent run with the ball.
ST: Eddie Nketiah – 6.5/10
Nketiah made one good chance in the final third.
LW: Reiss Nelson – 6.5/10
He was not shy of having a strike at goal.
CM: Emile Smith Rowe – 6/10
Direct
