Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim wants Marcus Rashford out of the club sooner rather than later, as per reports.

Erik ten Hag stamped his authority at Old Trafford by showing Cristiano Ronaldo the exit doors. The development strengthened Ten Hag’s position in the dressing room but it left his attack weakened as United failed to find a suitable replacement.

Amorim is seemingly taking a similar risk, having pushed Rashford away from his first-team plans after being left unimpressed with his work ethic.

The 27-year-old, who appeared one of the most promising players at the club in the very early days of Amorim’s reign, last featured for the Red Devils in mid-December in the Europa League.

Since then he has been left out of seven of United’s eight fixtures across all competitions. He hasn’t played for a single minute in that time.

United’s struggles going forward have raised some question marks over Amorim’s ruthless decision but it appears the Portuguese has no plans to hand Rashford another opportunity.

According to GIVEMESPORT, Rashford is in “serious danger of never playing” for United again as Amorim is keen to “offload him this week.”

United’s preference is to part ways with their academy product on a permanent basis this January but his staggering wages and concerning form have proven to be a huge obstacle in the club’s bid to offload him and boost their budget for potential incomings.

The Mancunians are open to letting him leave in a loan deal for the remainder of the season. Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, and Barcelona have all expressed interest in signing the high-profile forward on loan. It is understood his desire is to play for Barca.

However, GIVEMESPORT add that the United gaffer is not planning to offer Rashford a “route back into his plans” if he returns to the club in the summer.

The report adds that “influential figures are hopeful that Rashford will leave by Friday.”

United have been linked with a number of forwards but whether Rashford’s exit would prove to be enough to fund a move for a top quality goalscorer remains unclear.
