Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has raised concerns about the decision-making of Marcus Rashford’s camp after he gave a controversial interview in which he revealed he is ready for a new challenge.
Rashford stunned supporters last week by stating he was prepared to leave United in search of a fresh adventure.
The forward has been in the limelight over the past few days, amidst suggestions that United are keen on selling him as early as January when the winter transfer window commences.
Rashford’s revelation came just two days after Amorim dropped him from the matchday squad that beat Manchester City 2-1 at the Etihad.
He has since been excluded from the two subsequent squads for matches vs. Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup and Sunday’s meeting with Bournemouth.
A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Rashford is unhappy with United after learning the club sounded out potential buyers without his knowledge.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Amorim questioned the “choices” of people surrounding Rashford, while offering his support to the 27-year-old.
Amorim said, “It is a hard situation. I understand that these players have a lot of people around them, making choices that are not the first idea from the player.”
“I am always here to help Marcus as another player. I have to do what I have to do. They chose to do the interview as it is not just Marcus. I understand that.”
“As a coach I focus on performance and the way you train. The rest, it is better for me and the club to deal with that when the time comes.”
Amorim added, “At the moment I focus on improving Marcus and we need a talented guy like Marcus.”
“I forget the interview now and see what I see on the pitch.”
United return to action on Boxing Day when they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux Stadium.
