It was great to win the derby again; it was vital that we beat Lecce. AC Milan made no mistakes and recorded their third straight league win after beating Venezia and Inter. They ran out 3-0 winners at San Siro following a devastating period late in the first half. Morata, Hernández and Pulisic got the goals tonight. Álvaro, who wasn't fully fit, opened the scoring for the Rossoneri, rising highest at the near post. And what can we say about Theo and Chris? Simply sensational, as per usual. The Rossoneri put in a strong team display; they looked fresh and up for it following the derby victory.
An efficient performance led to happy moments; the attack turned up in fine form and the defence held firm. A win in the first game of Serie A matchday 6 means that the Diavolo sit top of the league for the time being, level with Torino on 11 points. It's a good feeling and is a clear sign that Fonseca's side are progressing nicely after a rocky start. Now, the weekend, which we can watch closely as spectators. In the coming days, we will also start prep for a tough trip to take on Bayern Leverkusen in the Champions League at the BayArena on Tuesday night.

MATCH REPORT Lecce were on top in the opening minutes: in the 4th minute, Dorgu shot hard but high and in the 11th minute, Krstović forced Maignan into action on a shot across the box. AC Milan were patient, holding onto the ball, but not creating much. Fofana had a go from distance in the 15th minute but wasn’t quite on target. In the 23rd minute, Gallo picked up the ball and unleashed a shot that Maignan stopped. In the 28th minute, Morata on the restart to Leão who freed up Abraham, but nothing came of his cross into the box. Then, we decided to strike and an explosive five minutes ensued. Morata scored in the 38th minute, turning in the air to get his head on the free-kick from Hernández on the wing - touch of the crossbar and in. In the 41st minute, Theo doubled the lead, tearing the net with a powerful shot assisted by Leão. In the 43rd minute, Abraham’s shot hit the bar and Falcone saved his follow-up before Pulisic, on the rebound, joined the party. Just before the break, Hernández went close with another big chance.
It seemed like a textbook restart after the break, the Rossoneri managed things well and anyway went out on the attack: in the 57th minute, Reijnders shot over the bar, same with Leão in the 60th minute, before Loftus-Cheek had a go and Abraham couldn’t quite deviate it in. The Giallorossi tried to stay in the game and began to threaten: in the 62nd minute, Maignan stopped a flying ball from ex-Rossoneri player Rebić, before flying into action on a ball from Ramadani outside of the box. In the 72nd minute, luck was on our side as Banda freed himself up and his shot smacked the post. Loftus-Cheek couldn’t get the right power on a shot midair in the 76th minute. We went down to 10 men in the 80th minute as Bartesaghi picked up a straight red after a tackle on Banda. The end of the game didn’t bring many threats for our ultra-alert goalkeeper. In injury time, Leão went close to getting himself on the scoresheet with a powerful shot, saved by Falcone. And that was that.
