So far this season, FC Barcelona have seen a lot of their key players get injured and remain sidelined. Some of those players have been on the sidelines from even before the official season commenced, while others have faced their issues during it. Despite these hurdles, Hansi Flick’s Barcelona has easily exceeded expectations.

Apart from the two defeats that came due to some less-than-ideal and unexpected circumstances, Barcelona have looked flawless so far. Whenever Hansi Flick has fielded his strong lineups for specific games, the Catalan giants have managed to walk away with victories to their name.

However, one thing that remains truly special about this particular team is the fact that they can only get better from here. With several key players expected to return soon, Barcelona will be getting a much-needed quality boost that adds reliable players to a team that could use the extra depth.

Beyond that, however, there is another player who is expected to return soon. Ronald Araujo, one of the captains of the Catalan club, is currently in recovery as well following his injury in the summer and it is expected that he will be back soon for Barcelona as well.

For him personally, his recovery seems to be going positively and he aims to make a strong comeback as he confirmed in a recent interview, as highlighted by Fabrizio Romano:

“I will come back like a bull. It’s a dream to play for Barça, I can’t wait to return.”

However, given the speculation around his contractual situation, his words regarding his past and future at Barcelona are also reassuring for those who are concerned about his stay as he admits that he would like to stay for ‘many more’ years:

“I have been here for 5 years already and I hope there will be many more to come.”

Since quite some time, there has been a lot of speculation about his potential future at the club. With reports suggesting that he has not even responded to the club’s most recent renewal offer, a lot of news has circulated about the Uruguayan defender possibly considering to leave the club.

While there is still no guarantee in terms of what will happen in the future, it is still reassuring to hear the player’s own words. For now, however, his focus will remain on returning in the best possible way and the negotiations for his contract renewal will likely take place at some point later on.
