Roma prep bid for O’Riley: player ready to wait until July | OneFootball

One of Roma’s top objectives for this summer is securing a strong, reliable midfielder who fulfills Gian Piero Gasperini’s criteria.

The main name on the capital club’s shortlist is Matt O’Riley of Brighton; a long-time favorite of the new Roma boss.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma have already made contact with the midfielder’s entourage and explained the club’s current situation.

Namely, Roma must first prioritize player sales before 30 June in order to comply with Financial Fair Play.

Once that is done, the newspaper writes that Roma will aim to formulate a loan offer to Brighton with an obligation to buy O’Riley.

O’Riley has already told the club that he is willing to wait until July as he appears eager to work with Gasperini.

In the meantime, Brighton are asking for around 30 million euros.
