Rodrygo Goes scored a stunning solo goal for Real Madrid in their 3-1 victory over Atletico Madrid on Thursday evening.
Real welcomed their fierce rivals to the Santiago Bernabeu for their Copa del Rey quarter-final clash.
Rodrygo started the match on the bench; a week after being scolded by Carlo Ancelotti for his reaction to being subbed off vs Villarreal.
Los Blancos fell a goal down in the 19th minute after Alvaro Morata netted the opener for the away side.
Real struggled to find a way past Jan Oblak and, with Atletico still leading in the 69th minute, Ancelotti decided to sub on Rodrygo.
The Brazilian justified that decision as he levelled the scores in epic fashion just 10 minutes after entering the fray.
Rodrygo picked up the ball some 35 yards out and raced into the box after ghosting past multiple opponents.
The Brazilian then fired the ball into the net with the outside of his boot.
It was a special goal and you can view it below…
Brilliant from Rodrygo.
The game went to extra-time with neither side able to find a winner in normal time.
Atletico’s chances were dealt a huge blow when Stefan Savic was shown a red card in the 99th minute.
The Montenegro centre-back was shown his marching orders after picking up two yellow cards in three minutes.
Real made their numerical advantage count as Karim Benzema gave the home side the lead five minutes after Savic’s red card.
Benzema found space at the back post and he coolly swept his effort past Oblak.
Vinicius Jr rounded out the scoring in the final moments of the match as Real secured their passage through to the Copa del Rey semi-finals.
Real will play either Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao or Osasuna in the last four.
