MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup will see Honduras make its 17th appearance in the tournament.

Honduras will feature in Group B with Canada, El Salvador and Curaçao. The team is managed by Colombian coach Reinaldo Rueda in his second stint after previously coaching La H at the 2007 and 2009 editions.

Los Catrachos qualified for the tournament after ousting Bermuda 7-3 on aggregate in the 2025 Gold Cup Prelims. They had five different scorers in the series, including a goal in each leg from star player Luis Palma.

The nation’s journey kicked off in Group B of League A in the 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League alongside Jamaica, Nicaragua, Trinidad and Tobago, Cuba, and French Guiana. Honduras earned a 2-1-1 record to advance to the CNL quarterfinals as the second-best team from its group.

The CNL quarterfinals matched up Honduras against Mexico, with the latter ultimately prevailing 4-2 on aggregate and winning the trophy. Honduras was matched up with Bermuda in the 2025 Gold Cup Prelims.

Initially down by two goals in the first leg at Bermuda, Honduras came back to win, 5-3, with a brace from Romell Quioto and strikes from Luis Palma, Julián Martínez, and José Pinto. Jorge Benguché and Palma scored to win 2-nil in the second leg at Estadio Nacional Chelato Uclés in Tegucigalpa.

Honduras’ best finish at a Gold Cup came in the inaugural edition in 1991 when it lost the final on penalties. Its second best-finish came as semifinalist in 2005 and 2009, the latter coached by current manager Reinaldo Rueda.
