Road to 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup: Group B

MIAMI - As the 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup nears its start, let’s review the journey of the 20 participants that secured a spot in the regional tournament.
Group B will be made up of 2024 semifinalists CS Herediano, CSD Municipal, Real España, Sporting San Miguelito, and Diriangén FC.
CS Herediano
CS Herediano booked its spot in the competition by winning back-to-back the Costa Rican First Division titles, claiming champions honors in the Torneo de Apertura 2024 and Torneo de Clausura 2025.
The club will aim to win its first Central American Cup title after reaching the semifinals stage in the past two editions. In 2024, Herediano topped Group A undefeated with a 3-1-0 record for a total 10 points, before tying 2-2 on aggregate against FC Motagua and winning the series on away goals in the quarterfinals and falling short against Real Estelí FC in the semifinals.
CSD Municipal
CSD Municipal will be one of three Guatemalan representatives this 2025 edition after finishing with the best overall record in the cumulative standings throughout the 2024-25 season of the Guatemalan First Division.
Municipal will aim to advance to the knockout stages of the CCAC for the first time in its third participation in the tournament. Last year, Los Rojos finished third in Group B with four points and a 1-1-2 record.
Real España
Real España qualified for the 2025 CCAC by securing the best overall record in the cumulative standings throughout the 2024-25 season of the Honduran First Division.
The Aurinegros return to the competition for the first time since 2023, marking its second appearance in the regional tournament. In 2023 in the team’s debut campaign, Real España came in third in Group B with four points and a 1-1-2 record.
Sporting San Miguelito
Sporting San Miguelito will be one of three Panamanian sides this CCAC, securing its place among the 20 competitors by claiming the best overall cumulative record in the Panamanian First Division’s Torneo Clausura 2024 and Torneo Apertura 2025 standings.
Sporting will eye a knockout stage appearance after concluding its only previous participation in in the group stage in 2023, placing third with four points in Group D with a 2-0-2 record.
Diriangén FC
Diriangén FC clinched the Nicaraguan First Division Torneo Clausura 2024 to qualify for a third consecutive edition. Diriangén enters the competition with the objective of advancing past the group stage for the first time. In 2024, Los Caciques finished third in Group A with a 2-1-1 record and narrowly missing out on one of the top two spots in the group due to goal difference.
