Ritsu Doan has decided to move to Eintracht Frankfurt | OneFootball

Bild reports that Freiburg winger Ritsu Doan has decided to move to Eintracht Frankfurt this summer amid interest from other clubs.

Alongside Frankfurt, several clubs had shown an interest in the Japanese international, including Borussia Dortmund, which had prolonged Doan’s decision on his future.

Now, Doan has chosen to move to Frankfurt. The next step for die Adler will be to reach a verbal agreement with the 26-year-old on contractual matters, but that is not expected to be a problem as Doan will likely sign a contract until 2030 and be well-paid.

Negotiations with Freiburg will also have to take place. The winger has a release clause in his contract worth €27m, but the Breisgau side will allow Doan to leave for around €20m.

The sale of Doan will offset most of the business that Freiburg have conducted this season. So far, they have spent €32m on Igor Matanovic (€6.7m, Frankfurt), Yuito Suzuki (€10m, Brondby), Cyriaque Irie (€8.5m, Troyes), Philipp Treu (€5m, St.Pauli), Derry Scherhant (€2m, Hertha Berlin) and Anthony Jung (Free, Werder Bremen)
