Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez could avoid a suspension for an alleged blasphemous outburst after yesterday’s Serie A loss to Juventus.

This according to Italian outlet FCInterNews. They report that without clear audio recording of the Argentine using the offending language, a ban would be unlikely.

Inter captain Lautaro Martinez was understandably in a bad mood after yesterday’s Serie A clash with Juventus.

The Nerazzurri lost to Juventus in the Derby d’Italia.

That is never a fixture that Inter like to lose, owing to the historic and bitter rivalry with the Bianconeri.

Furthermore, Inter squandered an opportunity to go top of the table after Napoli’s draw with Lazio on Saturday.

And Inter captain Lautaro Martinez had not had a good match himself. The 27-year-old missed a slew of good chances in the 1-0 defeat.,

After the match, Martinez was venting his frustrations.

And some images on social media have seemed to indicate the use of blasphemous language by the striker.

Article 37 of the code of Sporting Justice in Italy prohibits the use of blasphemous phrases on the pitch.

Midfielder Rolando Mandragora, for example, had received a suspension while an Udinese player.

However, note FCIN, the proof for these cases must be a clear audio recording, typically.

Therefore, lip-reading of video of Martinez’s outburst would not be sufficient.

Accordingly, unless such audio were to emerge, then there would be little chance of a ban for the Inter captain.
