Although the new additions that FC Barcelona have already made or are working to make in their team are taking most of the spotlight, the Catalans are also working to ensure some departures from their team in the upcoming summer transfer window.
One of their players who is highly likely to leave the Blaugrana club this summer is the forward Ansu Fati. The Spaniard has been linked with a move to the Ligue 1 club AS Monaco, with some reports suggesting that a move is nearing completion.
Fortunately, this move is actually nearing completion now, as the winger was set to travel to the Principality today to pass his medical and finalize this move. However, he has been kept back, reportedly as he is going to sign a one-year extension with Barcelona before going on a year-long loan.
Ahead of this potential move, SPORT has published a report outlining some financial details of this transfer. The report mentions that Monaco will have the right to permanently sign the winger after the end of his loan for €11 million. On the other hand, if this option is exercised, the Blaugranes will keep a buyback option of €28 million on the forward.
As things stand, the two clubs are exchanging documents, and once this process is complete, Fati will be practically a Monaco player. The new date for his medical is set at 28th June, and he is going to start his pre-season training on 1st July. Before him, the Ligue 1 side will present another big name to their fans, i.e., the midfielder Paul Pogba.
Currently, Ansu Fati is enjoying his holidays. First, he visited the United States, and then flew to Uruguay to attend Ronald Araujo’s wedding. Now, he is back in Spain, enjoying his time in Ibiza with Lamine Yamal, as he waits for the completion of his move.
