Next week will reportedly be decisive in Inter Milan’s drawn-out-pursuit of Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman.
Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, anticipate that the end of this summer transfer soap opera is on the horizon.
Inter Milan have already spent several weeks chasing after Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman.
The Nerazzurri had hoped to wrap up a deal for the Nigerian international by the end of July. Clearly, that has not happened.
Inter have faced stumbling block after stumbling block in their efforts to sign Lookman.
Chief among them is the fact that Atalanta have never given Inter a price tag. They have rejected two offers, but not given the Nerazzurri a counteroffer to base a decisive bid around.

In the meantime, Lookman himself has done everything he possibly can to force Atalanta’s hand.
The Nigerian international very publicly demanded a transfer to Atalanta last weekend. This after Atalanta had rejected a second offer from the Nerazzurri.
Then, Lookman took things a step further. The 27-year-old – who had already scrubbed all traces of Atalanta from his social media accounts – began no-showing training.
There’s no indication that Lookman plans to return to training for Atalanta.
Therefore, the Corriere dello Sport, Atalanta will fine Lookman. They could levy a very heavy fine indeed considering how long the 27-year-old has gone AWOL from training.
But Atalanta can’t tolerate this situation forever. They are hoping to draw it out for as long as possible, but they must sort it out.
And for that reason, the Corriere dello Sport report, this week should be decisive.
Atalanta will finally give Inter a clear idea of their financial demands. Then, Inter will either raise their offer to the magic number, or walk away from the table.
