Report Lukaku rejects Aston Villa to wait for Napoli and Chelsea deal | OneFootball

Reports suggest that Aston Villa agreed a fee with Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku, but that the Belgium international only wants to reunite with Antonio Conte at Napoli.

The striker is not part of the Blues project after returning from two different Serie A loan spells at Inter and then Roma, both of whom did not try to make the move permanent.

He now has his heart set on working with his former Inter coach Conte again at Napoli, though the Partenopei will not pay the €35m asking price.

According to Radio CRC and Il Mattino newspaper in Italy, Chelsea did agree a fee with Aston Villa to sell the centre-forward, but he blocked it without even discussing personal terms.

Only Napoli for Lukaku

Lukaku has no intention of accepting any proposal other than Napoli this summer and the Serie A side are confident they can wait it out to get Chelsea to lower their demands.

At the same time, they also cannot make the move stick until Victor Osimhen has been sold, with nobody going anywhere near the €120m release clause in his contract.

There is the potential for Osimhen to join Chelsea as part of the deal for Lukaku, but Paris Saint-Germain remain the favourites.
