Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan could re-purchase up-and-coming midfielder Giovanni Fabbian from Bologna in the summer.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, Fabbian’s notable development at Renato Dall’Ara hasn’t gone unnoticed.
Inter sold the 21-year-old to the Rossoblu in the summer of 2023.
However, they included a buyback clause in the agreement, allowing themselves to re-sign the young gun this summer.
Indeed, it will take only €12 million to bring him back to the San Siro.
With Davide Frattesi set to leave the club, the Nerazzurri will probably activate the clause at the end of the season.
Frattesi’s departure looks like a virtual certainty.
Indeed, he seems determined to force his way out after tumbling down the pecking order.
Roma are the leading candidates to secure the 25-year-old’s services, though he won’t go cheap.
Inter’s €45m asking price remains a stumbling block.
But if the Giallorossi pull off the deal, it’ll give the Nerazzurri enough ammunition to strengthen their ranks next summer.
Fabbian could be one of the club’s first additions.
Despite only making four Serie A starts for Bologna this season, he has shown glimpses of his talent.
Inzaghi may have a chance to witness his progress first-hand later today.
