Report – Inter Milan Targeted Rennes & Club Brugge Defenders But Balked At Asking Prices | OneFootball

Inter Milan considered targeting Rennes defender Jeremy Jacuqet and Club Brugge’s Joel Ordonez, but balked at the asking prices.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInter1908.

For months, it has seemed all but inevitable that Inter would sign a defender at some point this summer.

The Nerazzurri are currently relying on aging duo Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi at the heart of their back three.

Meanwhile, there have been transfer links away for the likes of Benjamin Pavard and Yann Bisseck.

Furthermore, Inter have sold wingback Nicola Zalewski to Atalanta this summer. Therefore, this means that Carlos Augusto will be required to play on the flank more.

Accordingly, the versatile Brazilian will not be able to deputize for Alessandro Bastoni in defense as often.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Inter have decided that they will not sign a defender who they don’t consider to be a player who can feature regularly.

The Nerazzurri don’t want to resort to any panic buys as the end of the transfer window approaches.

The Corriere report that Inter have sounded out moves for Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet, and for Club Brugge’s Joel Ordonez.

These are two players Inter would see as adding real quality to their squad.

However, Rennes and Brugge want €50 million and €40 million respectively for those players.

And at the moment, the Corriere report, Inter don’t plan on investing that much in a defender.
