Serie A powerhouse Inter Milan have revived interest in up-and-coming Nantes center-back Nathan Zeze amid links to Bundesliga and Premier League clubs.
According to Numero Diez via FCInterNews, the reigning Scudetto holders could face fierce competition from a host of clubs.
Several teams from the Premier League and Bundesliga have added Zeze to their lists of targets, according to the report.
Though that’s the last thing Inter would want to hear, they’re still open to luring the 19-year-old to Giuseppe Meazza.
After all, their interest in the Frenchman is long-standing.
Despite recently setting sights on other targets, they’ve never lost interest in the Nantes ace.
Zeze is a left-footed defender, which makes him a perfect candidate to replace Francesco Acerbi in the long run.
Acerbi’s future at Inter is in the balance, even though he signed a contract extension earlier this season.
Indeed, recurring injury problems have made the Nerazzurri second-guess their decision to stick with the 36-year-old.
As a result, the ex-Lazio star could depart at the end of the season.
He’d leave a massive vacancy in his wake, and Zeze could be the one to fill it.
Zeze still has three more years left to run on his contract at Nantes.
That means he’ll likely command a sizeable price tag.
