Inter Milan have paused their pursuit of Hellas Verona wingback Jackson Tchatchoua to focus on other pressing matters.

According to L’Arena via FCInterNews, Inter’s interest in the Cameroonian has temporarily taken a back seat.

Jackson Tchatchoua first emerged as a potential target for the Nerazzurri toward the end of last season.

Indeed, the 23-year-old’s impressive form at Verona recommended him to Inter amid Denzel Dumfries’ uncertain future.

However, they’ve pulled the plug on the transfer after signing Luis Henrique from Marseille.

Inter reportedly view Tchatchoua as a potential replacement for the Dutch wingback.

Furthermore, Tchatchoua’s €10 million price tag wouldn’t be an issue for the San Siro club.

However, everything depends on Dumfries.

Super agent Jorge Mendes has offered the 29-year-old to Barcelona along with AC Milan star Rafael Leao.

Moreover, Dumfries has a €25m release clause that’s valid until the end of July.

Therefore, his exit is a distinct possibility despite Inter’s desire to keep him in Milan beyond the summer.

If he completes his transfer to Camp Nou, Inter will probably rekindle interest in Tchatchoua.
