Inter Milan Midfielder Draws Summer Interest

Manchester United have contacted Inter Milan regarding the possibility of a summer move for Italian midfielder Davide Frattesi. According to sources familiar with the situation, several European clubs are monitoring developments closely, with Tottenham, Roma and Atletico Madrid also showing interest.

United’s enquiry is understood to be an initial move to understand the conditions required for a potential deal. No formal offer or negotiations have taken place at this stage. However, the growing attention around the midfielder suggests a move could be on the cards depending on Inter’s stance and the player’s decision.

Frattesi’s situation has become one of increasing intrigue during this transfer window. Although the 25-year-old has not yet expressed a desire to leave the Nerazzurri, Inter are open to a potential departure.

Inter’s Stance on Frattesi and Lowered Valuation

Inter Milan have signalled a willingness to part ways with Frattesi this summer and have adjusted their valuation accordingly. Initially set at €50 million, Inter’s asking price has now dropped to around €35 million, a development that has alerted several Premier League clubs.

“Premier League clubs have been monitoring Frattesi for a long time, and now that his price has dropped from €50m to around €35m, the deal is becoming more attractive,” a source told CaughtOffside.

That valuation shift may be significant for United, who are working within a restricted budget while also targeting multiple positions. Tottenham are also among the clubs showing notable interest, but as it stands, the player has not made any firm decisions on his next move.

United Midfield Planning Continues

While their main focus is currently on strengthening the right side of attack—where Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo is considered a top target—United are also exploring midfield additions. The club’s recruitment team is believed to be evaluating several profiles as part of a broader summer rebuild under the guidance of INEOS.

Frattesi represents one of several midfielders under consideration. United are keen to add a more dynamic presence to their engine room, particularly with question marks surrounding current options such as Casemiro. Although the Brazilian has struggled for form, his future remains undecided.

Joao Palhinha remains on United’s list, with further interest shown in Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton. However, Inter’s openness to negotiate and Frattesi’s profile as a physical, tactically disciplined midfielder could make him a compelling alternative.

Future Remains Undecided

Despite growing interest, Frattesi is in no rush to decide his next step. Sources suggest the player is still weighing up whether a move away from Italy is in his best interest, especially after just one season with Inter.

There remains a possibility he will stay in Milan and compete for a bigger role next season. For now, clubs including Manchester United and Tottenham are keeping close tabs, aware that the landscape could change quickly as pre-season preparations begin.
