Report – Croatia Star Tipped To Play In Holding Midfield For Inter Milan Vs Torino | OneFootball

Petar Sucic will reportedly play in holding midfield for Inter Milan in their Serie A opening day match against Torino.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Inter Milan are just a couple days away from the start of their Serie A season.

The Nerazzurri kick off their campaign against Torino on Monday. They host the Granata at the San Siro in their first match of the season.

This will be the first Serie A match in charge of Inter for new coach Cristian Chivu.

Meanwhile, some new faces who have arrived during the summer transfer window will also have a chance to make their debuts.

And according to Tuttosport, there is one player who will go straight into the Inter starting eleven.

Inter signed midfielder Petar Sucic from Dinamo Zagreb this summer.

The 21-year-old has already gotten some opportunities for the Nerazzurri at the Club World Cup.

According to the Tuttosport, though, Sucic will start against Torino in his first ever Serie A match as an Inter player.

Hakan Calhanoglu will miss Monday’s match. The 31-year-old is serving a one-match suspension due to an accumulation of yellow cards.

Therefore, Sucic will get the opportunity at the base of Inter’s midfield.

Alternatively, Nicolo Barella could start in holding midfield. In that case, Sucic would play in a box-to-box role.
