Chelsea are weighing up whether to make a move for Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers this summer according to reports.

The Blues are once again set for a busy summer, with the club looking to sign a striker, centre back and right footed attacker to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad.

Chelsea face a critical window and could look to sell seven or eight players in order to fund their business, with a number of players surplus to requirements or wanting a new challenge.

Chelsea weigh up Morgan Rogers move

Whilst a striker is clearly the main priority the Blues are also looking to bring in another winger to bolster the squad.

Nico Williams has been mentioned as a “dream” target, whilst Jamie Gittens is also high on Chelsea’s shortlist of targets.

In recent weeks interest has emerged in Rogers, although Villa are said to want £90m for one of their star players.

Give Me Sport have now provided an update on Chelsea’s interest in Rogers and have reported the Blues have identified the 22-year-old as a genuine summer target.

The reported adds Chelsea are tempted to test Villa by making a formal offer, whilst a move could become more viable if the Blues seal Champions League qualification and Unai Emery’s men miss out.

Give Me Sport state Chelsea haven’t made an official offer yet, but the Blues have an understanding Villa need to make a big money sale to comply with Profit and Sustainability rules.

Rogers has had a brilliant campaign with 14 goals and 15 assists in 51 appearances in all competitions, and whilst he’s mainly an attacking midfielder, he can also play on either wing.

Chelsea “love” Nico Williams

Whilst the Blues contemplate whether to make a move for Rogers, Williams remains firmly on the radar and Fabrizio Romano has reported Chelsea “love” the Spain international.

The Blues and Arsenal are said to have made contact to find out the total cost of a potential deal for the 22-year-old.

Gittens would appear to be the easier deal to do, but it seems Chelsea are weighing up all options carefully before making a move.

The Blues will likely want at least one or two signings in place before the Club World Cup next month, so the upcoming weeks could be interesting.
