Rennes interested in Marseille’s Jonathan Rowe | OneFootball

Stade Rennais have joined the race to sign Olympique de Marseille forward Jonathan Rowe (22), according to a report from Foot Mercato.

Rowe had a mixed first season at Marseille, but nonetheless, he made 30 appearances for the club (three goals, four assists). He is also coming off the back of a strong showing with England at the Euro U21 championships.

However, the Englishman is far from untransferable at OM, amid interest from across Europe. There is notable interest from Turkey and specifically from Besiktas and Fenerbahçe. Atalanta are also interested in the Englishman, whilst Premier League clubs are attentive to his situation, Sacha Tavolieri understands. The journalist adds that OM value the England youth international at €20m.

Rennes are now entering the race, Foot Mercato understands. As previously reported, Marseille are open to a sale, however, the Breton club are yet to submit a bid. Valentin Rongier and Quentin Merlin have already made the move from the Vélodrome to Rennes this summer.
