Manchester City and AC Milan have reached an agreement on a transfer for Tijjani Reijnders, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported on Wednesday morning. The Citizens will pay an amount of around 70 million euros for the Dutch international.
Earlier, Reijnders had already reached a personal agreement with Manchester City, and now the clubs have also reached an agreement. At the moment, the last wrinkles are being ironed out by both parties.
In March, Reijnders extended his contract with AC Milan until the summer of 2030, but after two seasons, the 26-year-old midfielder is already moving on. Manchester City had the explicit wish to bring in Reijnders before the Club World Cup, which starts on the 14th of June. The deal may have been accelerated by Mateo Kovacic’s injury.
Reijnders transferred from AZ to AC Milan in the summer of 2023. The Rossoneri paid over twenty million euros for the Dutchman, and in total, he played 104 matches for the Italian giants. In those matches, Reijnders scored 19 goals and provided nine assists.
Reijnders is currently in Zeist to prepare with the Dutch national team for the World Cup qualifiers against Finland (Saturday, the 7th of June) and Malta (Tuesday, the 10th of June). For Manchester City, the Club World Cup starts on Wednesday the 18th of June, with a match against Wydad AC of Morocco.
