Manchester United could be on the brink of a flurry of exits with just ten days remaining in the summer transfer window.

According to the Athletic, Burnley are interested in signing Man United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri.

The Clarets are weighing whether they want to snap him on a loan deal or a permanent transfer.

They got related from the Premier League last season but are putting in efforts for an immediate return.

Mejbri has just one year remaining in his contract with United. The 21-year-old joined United from AS Monaco in 2019 for a fee reportedly around £9 million.

The Tunisia international joined United with considerable hype, given his early promise and potential.

However, despite the excitement surrounding his arrival, he struggled to make a significant impact at the club.

He has made 13 appearances for the senior United team and scored merely one goal.

His record for United’s under-21 was encouraging, bagging six goals and 17 assists in 41 appearances.

Mejbri was sent on a loan for the 2022/23 season at Birmingham City where he scored one goal and provided five assists in 38 games.

After failing to get regular game-time under Erik ten Hag, the youngster was sent to Sevilla on loan for the second half of the last season.

United were optimistic that Mejbri would do well in La Liga. They even inserted a fixed buy-back clause and a sell-on clause for the midfielder.

However, his spell in Spain turned out to be a nightmare. He was able to amass only 101 minutes across six appearances with Sevilla.

Ten Hag preferred to include Toby Collyer in the squad over the Tunisian for the 1-0 victory over Fulham.

With Mejbri’s future at Old Trafford appearing increasingly uncertain, a permanent transfer might be the best path forward for both him and United.
