Real Sociedad handed fitness boost ahead of Real Madrid clash | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Real Sociedad have this week been afforded some timely, and altogether unexpected positive news on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that Brais Méndez has secured a return to training.

Brais, for his part, was announced to have suffered a broken bone in his foot late last month.

The initial prognosis pointed towards the 27-year-old’s campaign as being as good as over, ahead of a prolonged spell on the sidelines.

In turn, it came as nothing short of a shock when, last week, boss Imanol revealed that Brais could yet return in time for his side’s season run-in.

And, on Wednesday, developments towards as much took another significant step in the right direction.

This comes with Real Sociedad having confirmed across the club’s social media platforms that Brais is back in group training alongside the rest of the Basque outfit’s squad.

It remains to be seen whether he is considered well enough to feature against Real Madrid on Friday night, but the news, either way, will come as a welcome boost amid La Real’s ongoing efforts to book a spot in European competition for next season.
