Milan will focus on Santiago Gimenez in the final stretch of the winter window, but a sale would greatly help their pursuit, and Samuel Chukwueze is far from untouchable in that regard. The Rossoneri have been trying to cash in on one of their defenders but to no avail at this stage.
Instead, the winger, who had his best years in La Liga, is receiving interest from Real Sociedad, Super Deporte informs. The Serie A giants will only consider a permanent sale and demand €15/18M.
In addition to increasing their ammo, Milan would wipe a significant salary off their books, as Chukwueze makes €4M annually. The winger returned and scored in the Parma game following a thigh issue. He has rarely been a regular starter during his time at San Siro and often missed time due to injury.
In the meantime, the Rossoneri are ready for another, and probably the final, offer for Gimenez, Calciomercato informs. They’ll tender €35/40M but through add-ons on Thursday, getting close to the request, although not on the nail.
The striker has put on hold other proposals from France, the Premier League, and Saudi Arabia to wait for them. His personal terms wouldn’t be a problem. There’s an agreement in principle on a three-year contract with an option for €2.5M annually.
He’s been fairly disappointing, but they’ll have to be careful not to hurt their depth. Having decent players off the bench has quickly proven to be pivotal under Sergio Conceiçao. Alex Jimenez has been okay but he can’t be the lone deputy in multiple roles.
