Real Sociedad closing in on Lyon’s Duje Ćaleta-Car | OneFootball

Real Sociedad are closing in on a deal to sign Olympique Lyonnais defender Duje Ćaleta-Car (28), according to a report from Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Lyon have not been opposed to selling Ćaleta-Car this summer. The Croatian, despite featuring regularly over the course of last season, is far from indispensible and is one of the wages that the club is keen on offloading, given their financial predicament and the introduction of a period of austerity from new president Michelle Kang.

Lucas Perri, Rayan Cherki, and Jordan Veretout have already left Les Gones this summer and Ćaleta-Car could be the next to depart. The former Southampton and Olympique de Marseille centre-back has been linked with a return to the Premier League, however, he now looks set for a move to Spain. Romano understands that Real Sociedad are closing in on the Croat. The fee to be paid by the La Liga side has not been revealed.
